Nature offers many gifts: from the land we build our homes on, to the soil we grow our crops in, and the raw materials (wood, coal, precious metals, oil, and more) that we use for our everyday needs. Nature also provides us with a bountiful supply of natural remedies that have been used for millennia to heal and promote good health in all of her inhabitants.
Gifts of Nature – Healing Plants
The healing benefits of plants have long been known, and many herbal teas, tinctures, and supplements are widely available to assist with common ailments. Examples include Echinacea to support the immune system, chamomile and lavender for the digestive and nervous systems, and hawthorn for the cardiovascular system.
Aside from the chemical components such as vitamins and trace minerals, organic oils, flavonoids, and other compounds found in plants that help support our cellular health, each plant also carries a “life force”.
Multidimensional, Vibrational Essences
A flower essence is a vibrational remedy that is created through an alchemical process involving all of the elements to capture the life force; the essence of the plant. The earth and air bring the flower to maturity, the sun (fire) imprints the life force energy into water, and the water is the vehicle in which the essence is carried. We might say that an essence carries the quantum resonance of the plant; all of the multidimensional information contained within the plant.
Flower essences are the energetic imprints of this life-force of the flower. This creation of a flower remedy is a co-creative act between nature, the environment and humanity to nourish the human soul” – Star Riparetti, Bliss and Blessings: The Divine Alchemy of the Star Flower and Gemstone Essences
With some similarity to homeopathy, flower essences fall into the realm of subtle energy therapies. The power of flower essences is not in their ability to interact with the physical chemistry of the body, but rather the power of interacting with the human energetic fields, and thus impacting mental, emotional, and spiritual well-being, as well as physical health.
In our modern times, it was the English Physician Dr. Edward Bach who introduced the use of flower essences to the medical community and the world.
Dr. Bach believed that true healing was brought about by re-connecting with our Higher Self, our Source Energy – that all disease is brought about from a disconnection between the Personality (3D self) and the Soul (Higher Self).
The action of these remedies is to raise our vibrations and open up our channels for the reception of our Spiritual Self; to flood our natures with the particular virtue we need, and wash out from us the fault which is causing harm. They are able, like beautiful music, or any gloriously uplifting thing which gives us inspiration, to raise our very natures, and bring us nearer to our Souls: and by that very act bring us peace and relieve our sufferings. They cure, not by attacking disease, but by flooding our bodies with the beautiful vibrations of our Higher Nature, in the presence of which disease melts as snow in the sunshine”. – Dr. Edward Bach, English Physician and developer of the Bach Flower Essences
Many wonderful new nature essences have been discovered and developed since the time of Dr. Bach, expanding on the repertory of knowledge that we have access to on this great planet.
As we continue to grow and understand the importance of our own consciousness and spirituality on our physical health and overall well-being, let us embrace the contributions of nature as part of our co-creative process, helping us to bridge the gap in our Self between the earth and the heavens; between body and soul.
